10 Alive recap

Special thanks to my brother for leading class.

I spoke with Jim today to find out how class went and what was discussed.  Jim said he informed the class that the “Enough”  book should have been titled ‘Getting Rich.’ (At this point I’m wondering if it was wise to have left him in charge) However, he explained that a proper attitude toward our finances comes only when we realize we are rich in Christ. (I begin to relax —  a little)

He advised that you discussed Zacchaeus, the tax collector that had a visit from Jesus. As a result of that encounter Zacchaeus was transformed.

“Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have defrauded any one of anything, I restore it fourfold.”

Zacchaeus didn’t need a better budgeting skills, he needed a changed heart. As our heart changes we come to realize how much Christ has given us — how rich we truly are. This realization in turn makes us radically generous to others.

Great message! (Why was I worried?)

Next week ‘Defined by Generosity’

See you Sunday.
