Tuesday Morning Recap

Thanks to Zeke for hosting a great party Tuesday night. We will take up an offering next week to help Zeke cover his costs.

Tuesday morning we concluded our series on the difficult sayings of Jesus with a discussion of Acts 1:1-11.

1) What is the restoration of Israel?

Aubie said it is the second coming. Jesus will come and set up His kingdom on earth.

Jesus had been with His disciples for forty days following the resurrection. This had been a wonderful time of teaching and fellowship. They wanted this special time to continue. However, Jesus had work for them to do.

2) What is the work Jesus wants us to do?

Jed said we are to be witnesses for Christ.

We spent much of our time discussing what it means to witness. Dan L. said that we are to tell people about Jesus.

Terry added that most people wont care about what you have to say until they see how much you care. Witnessing means give to others of our time, talent and treasure.

Paul added that we must lead Godly lives. We may be the only Bible someone sees.

Jim noted that witness best when we love God and others.

3) How are we doing?

We all agreed that we can do a better job witnessing.

We become better as we draw closer to Christ.

Next week we will begin a series on 2 Timothy. Our text will be 2 Timothy 1:1-7. Consider the following questions:

1) How does Christian friendship differ from other friendships?

2) How does Paul want Timothy to exercise his faith?

3) What does this passage teach us about spiritual growth?

See you Tuesday.
