Wednesday Night Recap

Friends,

Wednesday we Continued our series on prayer with a discussion of Ephesians 6:18-20.

1) Why does Paul insist that we should pray as often as we can?

Robyn said that the devil is always ready to pounce. He likes nothing better than to destroy families, friendships and churches. We need to be in constant contact with the Father to resist the devils schemes. Billy Graham is found of saying that if we could see for an instant the spiritual warfare that around us we would be motivated to pray without ceasing.

Anne noted that we are to pray in the Spirit which means we must seek God’s will for our lives. Without constant prayer we run the risk of making bad decisions.

2) Why are we to pray for the saints?

Tom said that the Christian walk can be hard. We can’t hope to succeed without the prayers of others.

We are all part of one body. What effects one effects all. Pray is the glue that holds us together.

3) What do you think of Paul’s prayer request?

Of all the things Paul could ask for he ask for prayer that he boldly preach the gospel at every opportunity. We were all stuck by the unselfish nature of this prayer. And we agreed that when our time on earth is through we want it to be said that we took every opportunity to proclaim the love of Christ.

Next week 1 Peter 1:3-9. Consider the following questions:

1) What does it mean to be born again?

2) Why do we suffer?

See you Wednesday.

John
