10 Alive Recap

Sunday we continued looking at Jesus healings with a discussion of Mark 3:1-6.

1) Why would Jesus heal on the Sabbath?

The Pharisees didn’t have a problem With Jesus healing the man with the shriveled hand. They didn’t like the fact that he healed on the Sabbath. The Pharisees believed that the law prohibited working on the Sabbath. And when Jesus healed He was working.

Jesus could have waited a day and avoided giving offense. Why didn’t He?

Deborah pointed out that Jesus wanted this confrontation. Jesus wanted to demonstrate that the Pharisees were wrong about their interpretation of the the law and about Jesus.

2) Why did the Pharisees want to destroy Jesus?

Jesus threatened their power.

They had a choice — worship Him or crucify Him.

3) What is the application of these verses?

Like the Pharisees we must decide what we believe about Jesus. Day by day, moment by moment we can live for Him or for ourselves.

Next week Luke 11:14-23. Consider the following questions:

1) What point is Jesus making by His explanation of His healing?

2) What are the implications of Jesus words?

See you Sunday
