10 Alive Recap

Sunday we concluded our series on Jesus’ healings. For the next two weeks we Katy Anderson will share her experiences from her recent mission trip to Korea.

Sunday we discussed Peter and John’s healing of the crippled man.

‘I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”

Our discussion centered on the fact that healings of this type were common place in the first century. However, they don’t seem as common today.

Robyn noted that healings do take place today but they often occur through doctors and nurses. She added that prayer accounts for more healing than we know.

Jack wondered why we don’t see more instantaneous miraculous healing. Could it be that we ‘receive not because we ask not.’  In other words the Holy Spirit stands ready to act if we will take a step of faith. Who knows what we could accomplish for the kingdom if we were more attentive to the Spirits promptings.

I believe that we are to often content to be ‘baby Christians’ when God wants us to grow into adults. We wont become the people God wants us to be or do the good works He has prepared for us to do if we do not learn to listen to the Spirit and take a risk.

I hope you enjoyed this series as much as I did.

See you Sunday.
