Wednesday Night Recap

No class next Wednesday. We will meet in the sanctuary for  Passover Service.

Wednesday we continued our series on Jesus “I am” sayings. Our text was John 11.

“I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.”

1) What does this saying teach us about God?

Anne noted that God has power over death. We are granted access to heaven not based on our works but on what we believe about Christ.

Robyn added that this saying shows that God loves us and wants to spend eternity with us.

Grady said that God is more concerned with the condition of our souls than with our earthly circumstance.

2) What does this saying teach us about people?

“If you had been here my brother would not have died.”

Chris said that we want God to make everything better and we think we know what is best. God always wants to hear what is on our hearts but He knows what is best. We must develop the habit of trusting Him.

Jack said that it is comforting to know that God loves us and provides for us even when we doubt.

Carroll added that it is amazing that some Jews witnessed Jesus’ miracles and still would not believe. Those who refuse to believe seldom need more information. They need to surrender and believe.

In two weeks we will discuss John 14:1-10.

See you at the Passover service.
