10 Alive Recap

Sunday we continued our series on troubling bible passages with a discussion of Exodus 4:18-26.

1) What is the purpose of circumcision?

It was a procedure established by God to set His people apart from other nations. Israel was God’s witnessing agent on earth for thousands of years. They were the ones God chose to tell others of His holiness and love.

2) Why did God seek to kill Moses?

Moses had not obeyed God. God demands perfection and that includes obeying His law. The penalty for disobedience is death.

If you are feeling a little nervous relax. God sent Jesus Christ to earth to lead the perfect life in your place and to pay your sin debt. You escape the death penalty because Jesus was put to death.

Next week Hebrews 10:26-27. Consider the following questions:

1) If we received the truth then why should we fear the wrath of God?

2) Are we required to become better people after we receive Christ as our savior?

See you Sunday.
