10 Alive Recap

Friends,

Last week we discussed the relationship between obeying God’s commands and living the life God intends for us.

John contends that if we love God we will obey Him. As we obey our love for God increases. I can attest that this is true. It was only after I began to obey the command to tithe that I could give with gratitude. As Grady would say, I had to fake it until I could make it.

What are you struggling with? Find out what God has to say on the issue. Obey Him and see if you don’t begin to find peace.

Tomorrow our text will be 1 John 5:12-15. Consider the following questions:

1) How can we know we have eternal life?

2) How can we receive what we ask for in prayer?

See you in the morning.

John

Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

Tomorrow we continue our series on creation. Over the past 2 weeks we have discussed the role light played in God’s creation. God designed us to respond to light. Indeed, we can’t live without light. Light provides warmth, comfort and initiates the process by which plants grow and produce food for us to eat.

Tomorrow  we continue our discussion of creation. Our text will be John 1:1-13.

1) Why does John describe Jesus as light?

2) How does the light of Christ function?

3) What is the purpose of the light of Christ?

See you in the morning.

John

Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentleman,

Last week we continued our series on creation with a discussion of light and darkness. We talked about how light was the first thing God created.

Bob noted that a little bit of light dispels a great deal of darkness. He recounted an incident where he experienced total darkness in a cave. That experience really made him appreciate the power of light. (more…)

Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

Tuesday we continued our series on creation. We discussed the first chapter of Romans. If a person contemplates creation they will eventually be lead to the cross.

“For since the creation of the world God’s inadvisable qualities – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.”

The promise of this verse is that all will be given a fair chance to respond to the Gospel. However, for those of us who believe the issue is how can we grow in grace.

This Tuesday we will discuss Genesis 1:3-5. Consider the following questions:

1) What do these verses add to your understanding of God?

2) What do these verses challenge about your world view?

See you tomorrow at 7 am.

John
