10 Alive Recap

Friends,

Sunday we will discuss the olivet discourse. Mark 13:1-32. This is portion of scripture that has been discussed and debated through the years. In this passage Jesus answers two questions. First, when shall the end of the world occur and what will be the sign of Jesus coming.

There are many theories about what historic events will usher in the final days and these theories make for great discussion. You may wish to address those Sunday. However, I believe we can learn a great deal about the nature of God and His relationship with us by focusing on the the themes contained in this passage.

1) There will be many signs that the end is coming. What does this teach us about God?

2) Before the end of the world the gospel must be preached to all the nations. What does this teach us about God?

3) During the end times there will be divisions between families. What does us teach us about the power of the gospel and human nature?

4) The end times will bring suffering to the people of the earth. What does this teach us about God?

5) There will be many ‘christs’ and they will lead many astray. What does this teach us about human nature?

Have a great class.

John

Wednesday Night Class

Hello Everyone.

Last week we covered the painting of “Get Up and Walk” and discuss how Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man.

We used the text from Mark 2:1-12.

Tonight we will talk about the painting called “Judas Betrays Jesus With a Kiss”

Luke 22:

47 While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him, 48 but Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

49 When Jesus’ followers saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?” 50 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.

51 But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And he touched the man’s ear and healed him.

52 Then Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs? 53 Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on me. But this is your hour—when darkness reigns.”

See you tonight.
