Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

I hope everyone had a blessed Memorial Day.

Last week we discussed our need to die daily. This is a necessary but difficult part of our Christian walk. Why is it difficult? Because our natural selves are in rebellion against God and His commands. Sinning is what comes natural. We must strive to become men that do what pleases God.

How do we become men who reject sin and do what is pleasing to God? We must recognize that we are no longer men of the flesh. We were bought at a price and the Holy Spirit now lives in us. We must choose to act differently and as we close to act the Holy Spirit will transform the attitude of our hearts. Ask Jesus to give you the Holy Spirit and He will answer that prayer every time.

Next week we will discuss pages 24-28.

See you Tuesday morning.

Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

Tomorrow we continue our discussion of ‘A Love Letter to the Church – A Revival Cry’

Last week we addressed the need to repent. During his earthly ministry Jesus continually demonstrated the difference between the Kingdom of Heaven and our world. The Kingdom of Heave is a place of Love and righteousness and the world is a place of pride and selfish ambition. When we acknowledge our sin based on His definition of sin we start walking in the Kingdom.

As believers we retain our sin natures and we continue to struggle with sin. However, the more we obey Him the more the Holy Spirit moves in our hearts and the more we yearn to live lives that please Christ.

Tomorrow we will discuss pages 20-24.

See you in the morning.

Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

Last week we began a study of ‘A Love Letter to the Church, A Revival Cry’

Paul suffered greatly to bring us the Gospel. We have benefitted from his faithfulness for without it we wouldn’t have most of the new testament nor our weekly bible study. False teachers suffer nothing as the proclaim their ‘gospel’ indeed most are applauded by the world. Paul asks a simple question. Who loves you more? The one who suffered to bring you the truth or the one who in comfort promotes a lie? In my life I have found that the ones who love me the most tell me the truth.

We were created perfect but then sin entered the world through Adam’s disobedience. There are two undeniable truths in life: all people sin and all people die. The only way we can know if a course of conduct is proper is to look to God’s word. Our natures are in rebellion against God and under the curse of sin. Therefore, our natural instincts will deceive us.

God hates sin. Sin cost Him His Son. But the good news is that I can be set free form sin and death through the blood of Christ.

Salvation comes through belief. Joy comes from obedience to God’s commands.

This week we will discuss pages 15 – 20. See you Tuesday morning.
