Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

It was a joy being with you this morning.

We continued our discussion of ‘A Love Letter to the Church – A Revival Cry’ Last week we talked about our need to repent and place ourselves under the authority of God’s word. This week we addressed the consequences of failing to live Godly lives.

Theologians have long debated the issue of eternal security. Some contend that you can fall from a state of grace and others claim you lose only rewards. However, we all agreed that those who love the the Lord seek to please Him. Jesus said “He who has my commands and keeps them, he is the one who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father…” John 14:21.

The bible is clear as to it’s teaching about money. We are to bring God our tithe. If we claim to love Him yet disobey Him then do we truly love Him? ¬†Paul wrote to the church at Rome ¬†” … Do not be conceited but fear; for if God did not spare the natural branches, He will not spare you either. Behold then the kindness and severity of God; to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; otherwise you will also will be cut off.” The scripture suggests that those who fail to obey God will be cut off from God.

God’s love is beyond our comprehension. He is patient with us. It has taken me many years to obey Him when it comes to my finances and I still stumble on occasion. But I’m no longer confused about what He requires of me. I must choose to obey or disobey.

The more I obey the easier it is to obey and the more blessing I receive. I no longer worry about falling from grace.

Next week I will be at the beach and Bob will be leading class. You will be discussing pp 38-40.

See you in two weeks.

John
