Wednesday Night Recap

Friends,

This fall we will be reading and discussing Corrie ten Boom’s book ‘The Hiding Place.’ Class will begin Wednesday, August 12th.

Corrie and her family hid Jews from the Nazis during World War II. For their trouble Corrie and her sister were sent to a concentration camp. This book is far more than a heart touching story. It illustrates how to face adversity with grace and how love conquers the worst the devil can dish out.

This is going to be a great study and I encourage you to attend and bring a friend.

Books will be provided.

See you soon.

John

10 Alive Recap

Friends,

Sunday we continued our series on Psalm 51. We discussed verses 4 and 5.

Against you, you only, have I sinned
    and done what is evil in your sight;
so you are right in your verdict
    and justified when you judge.
Surely I was sinful at birth,
sinful from the time my mother conceived me. (more…)

Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

This morning we continued our series on ‘A Love Letter to the Church.’ We discussed why a healthy fear of God is necessary for spiritual growth.

David describes an encounter with the Holy Spirit. While sitting in church he felt someone grab his arms from behind. He turned around expecting to see one of his friends and – no one was there. He heard a voice say, “You don’t fear me, but you need to.” (more…)

10 Alive Recap

Friends,

It was great being with you this morning. We began our series on Psalm 51.

This psalm was written by David after his sin had been exposed. It is easy to be sorry you have been caught but not sorry for the sin you committed. We noted that the first two verses of Psalm 51 demonstrate that David is truly repentant.  (more…)

10 Alive Recap

Friends,

I appreciate dad filling in last week. He told me you had a great discussion.

Tomorrow we will begin a series on Psalm 51. Psalm 51 is David’s humble prayer for forgiveness and cleansing. I hope that this series will help us appreciate the consequences of disobeying God, God’s willingness to restore us to right relationship with Him and what the attitude of our hearts should be.

Tomorrow we will discuss Psalm 51:1-2.

See you in the morning.

Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

It was a pleasure being with you Tuesday morning.

We continued our series on ‘A Love Letter to the Church.’ We discussed hypocrisy and judging. My salvation can never be built on my judgement of another’s sin. It omits the Cross. Judging myself superior to another based on my behavior compared to theirs cannot save me before a Holy God.   (more…)

10 Alive Recap

Tuesday Morning Recap

Gentlemen,

Tuesday we concluded section II of ‘A love Letter to the Church’

The main problems facing the church today are unbelief and disobedience. Simply put we want to do what we want when we want. We don’t like to be told ‘no.’ (more…)
