10 Alive Recap

We were few in number this morning but mighty in spirit – and a little damp.

Today we continued our discussion of Psalm 51.  Our text was verses 13-17.

 you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings.
 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit;
 a broken and contrite heart

It’s only the one who appreciates the depth of their sin that realizes their need for a savior. David has been exposed as an adulterer, a murderer and a coverup artist.  He knows he needs forgiveness and he knows that good works are not going to make up for what he has done. He needs a new heart.

The most effective witness is the one who shares his/her story with others. Our stories are different but share common elements. We once were lost but now are found, were blind but now we see.

We are built for eternity. The suffering of this life is not worth comparing to what God has in store for this who love and obey Him. We must always walk humbly with God and look for ways to show His love to a world that so desperately needs a savior.

Next week we conclude our series on Psalm 51. We will discuss verses 18-19. I hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have.

See you Sunday!
